$600,000 Federal Grant Awarded

Calendar of Events Past, Present, Future Schools Libraries Clubs & Associations Recreation & Sports Churches Seniors Volunteering & Service Opportunities Local Businesses Concord Connections State & County Penacook Village Association		U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's brownfields program has awarded nearly $600,000 in federal grants to help clean up the long-vacant Allied Leather tannery site on East Street in Penacook. This was formally announced in June 2011 by U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen's office. The grant will be used to to remove about 1,000 tons of chromium-contaminated soil and more than 5,500 tons of coal ash-contaminated soil from the site.
